3rd Annual Throwback Thursday Quizzo & Movie: Hocus Pocus!

First Friday Films @ Robeson House & Museum: The Pieces I Am, Toni Morrison

View the inspiring film depicting the life of Toni Morrison with fellow community members at Roberson House & Museum. The film includes discussions about her many critically acclaimed works, including novels “The Bluest Eye,” “Sula” and “Song of Solomon,” her role as an editor of iconic African-American literature and her time teaching at Princeton University.


New Asian Futurisms Opening Reception

Mainstream science fiction evokes fear for the future. New Asian Futurism, asked artists to imagine how a shift in perspective can inspire us, instead, to look forward to looking forward. The artists in this public program continue the journeys embarked upon by Afrofuturists like Samuel L. Delaney, Sun Ra and Octavia Butler with existing media, in a narrative of hope. The evening will include light refreshments, free palm readings by Shizu Homma, and free tarot card readings by Victoria Wikler.

Philadelphia Mini Maker Faire

This all-age event is a unique combination of art, science, engineering, technology, and creative expression. The Mini Maker Faire will showcase inventors, artists, startups, garage tinkerers, crafters, and science clubs. Makers from all different backgrounds will come together to show off their creations and how they were made. Expect to see robots, glassblowing, fashion, 3D printing, electronics, and much more.

2019 Pride Night at Terror Behind the Walls
