Summer Solstice Yoga Mala: 108 Sun Salutations

Yoga on the Pier is celebrating the solstice and welcoming the longer days of summer with a continuous flow, inspired by the traditional 108 Sun Salutation yoga practice. A variety of Yoga on the Pier teachers will guide you through the poses and encourage you to connect your breath with your movements, find your rhythm and enter the new calendar season with a clear mind, a refreshed spirit and renewed intentions.

 

Bites & Brews with Goose Island

Philadelphia Juneteenth Festival

The Juneteenth Celebration in Philadelphia will begin with an “Honor Our Ancestors” breakfast followed by a parade and music festival. The new parade route will provide an opportunity to highlight local businesses and bring more commerce to the historical 52nd street business district!   

 

Quiet No More” A Choral Celebration Of Stonewall

Join ANNA Crusis Women’s Choir and Philadelphia’s Gay Men’s Chorus in a special celebratory concert commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising. “Quiet No More: A Choral Celebration of Stonewall” is a multi-movement choral piece co-commissioned by the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles. Its charge is to celebrate the vast legacy and worldwide change that resulted from six days in June 1969 in the West Village of New York City.

 

Manayunk Arts Festival   

June 22 & 23

Head over to Manayunk for the tri-state’s largest outdoor, juried arts festival. Celebrating the best of fine arts and crafts from across the country, nearly 200,000 collectors, buyers, and designers will visit Main Street for this event.

 

2019 Bocce Tournament

Let the games begin! IBG are spicing it up with a little friendly competition. Grab a partner and sign up for their a bocce tournament. Teams must arrive by 11:45am, space is limited to 8 teams of 2, first come first served. A grand prize will be awarded.

 

Bok Rooftop Yoga

Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday, head over to Bok for a 60-minute class on the glorious rooftop at Bok Bar. Classes always start at 6pm and the event is rain or shine. (They’ll just be inside in the Girls Gym if it rains!) And 30% of the proceeds go to five different non-profits!

Wet Nose Rescue has partnered with Evil Genius Brewery to bring some puppies! Portions of the beer sold in the beer garden will be donated to Wet Nose Rescue. Personal puppies are invited to play as well.

Philly’s own Eli Goldblatt celebrates the release of his poetry collection “For Instance.” Alongside his poems, the book contains reproductions from woodcut prints by Wendy Osterweil and drawings by Michael Moore.
