Join We the People Improv for a jam packed, four-day festival, featuring acts from all around the world! With a perfect mix of local and outside talent, this festival will showcase the best of the best in the improv world.

 

HOPE & FURY MUSIC SERIES  

Friday, July 13

Social justice and music collide during the third installment of The Hope & Fury concert series from La Colombe, RECPhilly and Yards Brewery. The event will start with a panel discussion about gender equality and misrepresentation of women in the media. On hand for the discussion will be Lauren Hart, women’s & LGBTQ+ rights advocate Anne Wakabayashi, and Vita and the Woolf’s Jennifer Pague. Donations will be collected for the Women’s Media Center, a progressive, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization working to raise the visibility, viability and decision-making power of women and girls in media. Donations will help to ensure that their stories get told and their voices are heard. Come out for an evening of food, free Yards Beer, music and great discussions by Philadelphians for Philadelphians.

 

Bastille Day 2018: The Farewell Tour

Come out for one last huzzah with the Bearded Ladies, and consume your final butterscotch krimpet thrown from the walls of the penitentiary. We hear there will be some other surprises as well!

 

Bistrot La Minette Bastille Day Feast

Celebrate Bastille Day at Bistrot La Minette with a tempting four-course dinner. Chef Kenneth Bush and his team have crafted a decadent spread of French delicacies. Start off your meal with chilled potato leek soup with parsley oil and croutons, then sample an array of delicacies from the buffet, including patés, quiche and oven roasted veggies. For the fourth course you can choose between half roasted chicken, filet of salmon or a pan-seared pork chop. Top off your dinner by trying either a layered almond cake, chocolate mousse or caramelized puff pastry!

The special Bastille Day Menu will be available from 12 noon until 10:30 pm on Saturday and until 9 pm on Sunday.

Come out for the ultimate block party in Queen Village hosted by The Good King Tavern! Their neighbors, Nomad Pizza and Hale & True, will be slinging some French inspired pizzas and local cider. There will be lots of music (Liberty Bellows, Davey & the Chains, Guy Tripper & Maggy’s Rooftop Aerial spinning beats), games (pétanque & corn-hole), face-painting and dancing!  

 

 

10 Years of Parc: Bastille Day Celebration

Parc is turning 10! Come celebrate on Bastille Day with an outdoor festival on 18th Street. Bring the whole family (pups welcome!) and enjoy a day filled with balloons, face painting, a photo booth, and a cookie decorating station by Pastry Chef Abigail Dahan.

Jean Shin is nationally recognized for her monumental installations that transform everyday objects into elegant expressions of identity and community. Join her as she discusses 20/20, created as part of Asian Arts Initiatives’ Chinatown In/flux, as well as her current solo exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Come out to listen to this amazing artist discuss her work!

 

FIFA World Cup 2018 Final Block Party

Make your way to South Street’s popular German beer destination, Brauhaus Schmitz, for a FIFA World Cup viewing party of epic proportions! Root for your favorite team while viewing the game on a 20 ft elevated screen. The event is free to attend and family friendly. Space is limited and will be first come, first serve.
